Puppetry Workshop: Ages 7 +
Saturdays 10am-2pm
May 6-27
Students will create full scale and small puppets during the course of this workshop. Students will learn crafting techniques as well as puppet performance techniques. The Puppets may be chosen to be featured in Weathervane’s production of Children of Eden!
Stage Combat 1: Hand to Hand Combat
Wednesdays 5-8pm
April 5-26
An intensive study on how to safely execute stage hand to hand combat; Taught by a Certified SAFD fight Director Jason Speicher. Students will learn safe fighting techniques, basic footwork, spacial awareness, how to pass and basic punches, slaps, blocks, shoves and grabs. This class will present their work at the end of their workshop to invited guests.

Stage Combat 2: Sword Fighting & Swash Buckling
Wednesdays 5-8pm
May 3-24
An intensive study on how to safely execute combat with weapons! Taught by a Certified SAFD fight Director Jason Speicher. Students will learn safe fighting techniques, basic footwork, spacial awareness, how to pass and basic slashes, blocks and choreography with weapons. This class will present their work in the Spotlight Showcase. Students must have taken Stage Combat 1 to be eligible.

Backstage Workshop: Costume Design/ Directing
Ages 12+
Costume Design: April 6-27: Thursdays,6-8pm
Directing: May 4-25 : Thursdays 6-8pm
This workshop style class will focus on producing the technical elements used in productions. Technical elements of theatrical productions are: costumes, props, lighting, sound, carpentry, stage management, directing, administration. This workshop helps prepare students for applications into our Summer Apprenticeship Program.
Acting for Commercials (4wks)
Ages 8-12
Fridays 5-7pm
April 7-28
Students will learn techniques involved in on camera acting, properly holding products, how to read copy, slate and more! Final product may include doing a real commercial!
Improv! Taught by Layne Roate!
Ages 10-18

April 15-29
Saturday Night Live meets Who’s Line is it Anyway in this fun and inventive class. Students will produce their own works through a combination of writing and improvisation games. This class may tour their production to area libraries, or school functions. Dates TBD.
