WYART Scholarships

Weathervane Playhouse is dedicated to reaching as many young people as possible and providing a quality theatre experience through our WYART workshops and productions. To help us reach our goal scholarship programs are now available to assist deserving students.
Joe Jenkins Arts Education Fellowship.  Established in 2009 by the Devine-Jenkins family this fellowship was created to honor the memory of Joe Jenkins. Joe was a great guy who was a friend to all.  He was an avid reader, enjoyed writing and theater.  His gift for humor is ever present in our memories 20 years after his death.  Devine Farms promotes family friendly activities on the farm every fall.  The farm’s motto is harvesting fun and education for young people and their families.  We believe that Joe’s personality lives on through our endeavors.   Weathervane Playhouse is also harvesting fun and education in the arts.  The members of the Devine-Jenkins family believes this fellowship is a fitting tribute to a special young man whose star continues to shine. This scholarship is awarded for the Summer term only.
imgresMatthew J. Trombetta Scholarship This scholarship was named for the late Weathervane Playhouse Managing Artistic Director Matthew Trombetta. Matthew’s love for creating art had no bounds. Matthew served as the Managing Artistic Director from 2004-2010. He was often quoted for saying that everyday he was thankful for being able to wake up and create art. Made possible by his family, this scholarship, based on application, offers students of all backgrounds the opportunity to enjoy the art of theatre. This scholarship is awarded once per term.
